Online event in collaboration between SPREP and IUCN Medicinal Plants Specialist Group

“OneHealthMedPlants: Sustainable Use of Medicinal Plants for One Health” is a scientific event dedicated to highlighting the role of medicinal plants within the One Health framework, integrating human, animal, and environmental health. The event will feature oral presentations and poster sessions presenting ongoing research in the fields of medicinal plants, phytochemistry, bioactivity, and sustainability.

To celebrate the World Wildlife Day, we are creating a wild herb garden on our grounds for local schools. On March 3rd, we will present these species and their uses via the social network "Nebenann.de".

Wildlife Jewels® is hosting a free World Wildlife Day celebration featuring wildlife-inspired art, hands-on learning, and native planting for pollinators. The event includes a Wildlife Jewels fine art & fashion exhibit highlighting wildlife from around the world—including the Persian leopard, African white rhino, Antarctic krill, raccoon, monarch butterfly, and more—plus a community painting activity, conservation partner exhibits, and short talks focused on protecting wildlife locally and worldwide.

I am a Senior Lecturer and an environmentalist with special interest on the effect of Climate change on Biodiversity and the Patron of the Environment Club at Shanzu Teachers Training College in the Coastal city of Mombasa , in Kenya, on the Eastern part of Africa.
The teacher trainees shall display different potted medicinal and aromatic plants, with the local and scientific name attached. in groups. Each group shall explain the medicinal or aromatic value of their plant. we shall then discuss the challenges in conservation and how it can be improved.
We shall also discuss an Event organized by Kenya Wild Life Services , named, Global Conservation Tech and Drone Forum (GCTDEF 2026) exploring the use of tech in conservation.

In 2026, World Wildlife Day (WWD2026) will shine a spotlight on the critical role of medicinal and aromatic plants.

Medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs) are essential for both human health and ecological balance. Around the world, people collect and use MAPs, including roses, hydrangeas and hummingbirds are primarily attracted to the vibrant colors of roses and hydrangeas rather than their nectar. Roses, particularly their petals and hips, offer medicinal benefits like rich antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, astringent, and mood-boosting properties, used for skin care (soothing irritation, hydrating), digestion (IBS, cramps), heart health (blood pressure), PMS relief (cramps, headaches), and as immune support due to high Vitamin C in rose hips, commonly consumed as teas, tinctures, or topical applications like rosewater and oils. Hydrangea root (Hydrangea arborescens) is primarily used in traditional herbal medicine as a diuretic and to support urinary tract health, particularly for managing kidney stones, bladder infections, and gravel. Its compounds, such as coumarin, offer anti-inflammatory effects. It is commonly consumed as teas, tinctures, or capsules.

With my Flag CCL series which I prepared for the 250th anniversary of the USA, my Rose Flag, Hydrangea & Rose Flag and Flowers Butterflies and Hummingbirds Flag celebrates World Wildlife Day.

The event celebrates the importance of native seeds through poems and songs initiated by GOETHE Institute Max Muller Bhavan. This will be performed by India's renowned ecological restoration practitioners: Manasi Karandikar and Ketaki Ghate (co-founders of oikos for ecological services).

Through Golden Karma Trail Tails, Spirit, our Golden Retriever mascot, brings viewers on his golden energy journey to share inspiring tales from the natural world. Through Spirit, one gets to learn about and experience the healing and restorative effects of nature by taking a virtual walk in the woods, meeting Spirit's many friends, and soaking in the positive energies found in the wild.

On World Wildlife Day, Spirit will share a short video in which he talks about the various animals in the wild – from bees to whales – who make a significant contribution to the greater good and how biodiversity is essential to maintain our planet's health. See link to video in "link" field.

This World Wildlife Day, we highlight the urgent and pervasive challenge of wildlife crime. Illegal wildlife trade is a multi-billion-dollar industry, driven by demand for exotic pets, traditional medicine, luxury goods, and trophies. Weak legal frameworks, corruption, and inadequate enforcement allow traffickers to operate with impunity, while limited resources hinder conservation efforts in the fight against poaching and trafficking.

The transnational nature of wildlife crime complicates enforcement, with online platforms further enabling anonymous illegal trade. Meanwhile, habitat destruction from deforestation and climate change, along with human-wildlife conflict, pushes communities toward poaching, accelerating species decline. Despite these many challenges, we are successfully combatting many illegal wildlife trade efforts.

To explore this critical issue, we are joined by two distinguished experts: John E. Scanlon, an international environmental leader with a distinguished career in law, policy, and conservation, and Prof. Phill Cassey, head of the Wildlife Crime Research Hub at the University of Adelaide. Together, they will help unravel the complexities of this global crisis.

On 20 December 2013 at the 68th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), March 3 was declared United Nations World Wildlife Day (WWD). This day holds significance as the day that the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) was signed in 1973.
People everywhere rely on wildlife and biodiversity-based resources to meet our needs - from food, to fuel, medicines, housing, and clothing. For us to enjoy the benefits and the beauty that nature brings us and our planet, people have been working together to make sure ecosystems are able to thrive and plant and animal species are able to exist for future generations.
In 2025, World Wildlife Day is be celebrated under the critical theme of "Wildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet."
On 3 March 2025 FAO Liaison Office with the Russian Federation together with UNEP and the National Committee of the UN Decade for Ecosystems Restoration in Russia organizes a press conference at TASS News Agency and a conference at the UN House in Moscow.

The proposed program will focus on Wildlife Habitat Management, which will be initiated by removing plastics and trash while walking through the campus and its environs. Clean and green initiative will help wildlife thrive and enhance the condition of corridors for migratory birds and wildlife.

The school challenges will include activities like dance, drawing, and writing about wildlife. We will focus on our favorite animals and discuss why they are important and how we can protect them. at my school (Trinity Primary School) to educate students about wildlife. In celebration of World Wildlife Day 2025, LUMO Conservancy Youth Forum, in collaboration with Wushumbu Youth Forum, will lead a Clean-up and Awareness Walk along the Mwaktau–LUMO highway stretch. Under the global theme, "Wildlife Conservation Finance – Investing in People and Planet," the event highlights the critical link between sustainable conservation and community well-being.

This initiative focuses on creating cleaner shared spaces for wildlife and people, fostering youth participation in conservation, and promoting environmental responsibility within the community. Through practical actions like roadside clean-ups and community engagement, we are making an intentional investment in a healthier ecosystem while empowering local youth to become stewards of conservation.

Join us on March 1st, 2025, as we take steps—literally and symbolically—toward a cleaner, more sustainable future for both people and wildlife.

Stand Up #FortheWildlife Fundraiser Event for World Veterinary Day is on April 26th at The Lennox Head Cultural Centre.
This very special fundraiser event is taking place on April 26th at the Lennox Head Cultural Centre. The fundraiser is called Stand Up #ForTheWildlife and aims to gather support for our hospital's vital work, which includes providing professional veterinary care to all native Australian wildlife species. The fundraiser is scheduled one day before World Veterinary Day to raise awareness and appreciation for veterinarians all over the globe.
 
The event will feature entertainment, including:
* A screening of "Wildlife Rescue," a TV show produced about our hospital.
* A Comedy Show set by an Australian Comedian (announcement coming soon) .

For 12 years, the Regional Integrated Coastal Resource Management Center (RIC-XI) through Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) has been the hub for biodiversity monitoring and research, training, and demonstration activities and the focal point in undertaking the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign in coordination with the Convention on Biodiversity’s efforts in Communication, Education, and Public Awareness (CEPA).

In celebration of World Wildlife Day in 2024, we conducted an IEC campaign entitled "REthinking Impact: An IEC on Marine Conservation and Regenerative Development." It's grounded in the urgent need to address the critical challenges facing marine ecosystems and wildlife conservation. The target participants of the said IEC campaign are the students of Barangay Dahican, Bobon, and Tamisan. This activity will be implemented over three consecutive weeks, targeting six schools.

We successfully conducted our first week of the IEC campaign on March 13, 2024, at the Benito G. Rabat Executive Elementary School and Don Luis Rabat Sr. Memorial School. The activity commenced with informative sessions and interactive presentations at two beneficial schools in Dahican.

This activity was organized by DORSU - BSES GreenPulse in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences—Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science Program, DORSU Regional Integrated Coastal Resource Management Center XI, DORSU Center for Futures Thinking and Regenerative Development, DORSU M2P2 Research Program, Mama Earth Foundation, DENR-Community of Environment and Natural Resources Office (Mati), BFAR-Provincial Fisheries Office (Davao Oriental), MASONIC District R-XI (Davao Oriental), City of Mati LGU, rrreefs, Sangguniang Kabataan-Barangay Dahican, Project Para Sa Bayan, City ENRO, Sawom Davao Oriental and Coast Guard Station (Davao Oriental).

As we reflect on its achievements, it is evident that RIC-XI will continue to inspire future generations to safeguard our precious coastal resources for years to come.

To celebrate the World Wildlife Day, the PRAXIS team visited a local school. To teach the pupils about the importance of wildlife conservation, we build birdhouses together made out of used milk and juice boxes.

Il Sistema Museale di Ateneo dell’Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro in collaborazione con il Museo di Zoologia Lidia Liaci, il Museo Faunistico Bernardo Terio e il Museo Orto Botanico partecipa al World Wildlife Day, giornata internazionale promossa dalle Nazioni Unite per porre l’attenzione sulle specie di fauna e flora selvatiche e il contributo che danno alla nostra vita e alla salute del pianeta.

Per l’occasione è stato organizzato un laboratorio a cura del biologo-illustratore Rocco Labadessa, dedicato a chi attraverso il disegno, anche alla prima esperienza, desidera entrare in contatto con la natura.
Introduce Vincenza Montenegro, Responsabile della mediazione e dei servizi educati per i musei dell’Università degli Studi di Bari.

Sarà l’occasione per portare l’attenzione della Cittadinanza sul concetto di conservazione della biodiversità.

L'evento è aperto a tutti fino al raggiungimento del numero massimo di visitatori ammissibili.

Celebrating the “World Wildlife Day 2024”, join us in the faculty of veterinary medicine – Suez Canal university – Ismailia – Egypt. On the 5th of March 2024. Many of those who are interested in the field of wildlife, ecology and biodiversity will meet in one place where there will be many scientific lectures and interesting presentations. In the end, all the attendance will be invited to a special visit to our Wildlife Museum for free. Family members, school trips, scout groups, and all the interested in the field of wildlife are welcomed to our event.

Initiative of Fraternidade Nuno Alvares (FNA), an association of adult scouts, member of the ISGF fellowship, which organizes the Webinar "Estar Alerta!", whose guests are the Wild Animal Recovery Center Wild Animal Recovery Center of the UTAD Veterinary Hospital (CRAS-HVUTAD) and the Institute for Nature Conservations and Forests (ICNF – Northern Region), national authority CITIES signatory. For their importance in the conservation of wildlife and for their excellent support and technical guidance in environmental volunteering and in sharing the return to Nature of recovered birds, in successive editions of FNA’s national environmental activity “CRIAR RAíZES” held annually in the Alvão Natural Park.
The FNA Webinar “Be Alert!” aims to celebrate World Wildlife Day, inviting adult scouts to participate in a global journey to explore technological innovation dedicated to the conservation of animals and plants on our planet and, a national reflection on wildlife and of the remarkable work to rehabilitate wild animals in the Alvão Natural Park area, a national protected area celebrating its 40th anniversary.
